Protection against moisture

Our storage containers have an excellent record in keeping our customers’ contents safe, dry and secure.  Although we don’t expect problems over the winter period, moisture contained in the air can result in a feeling of dampness in unheated conditions.

When you’re loading and accessing your store it’s always better to try to do this on a dry day so moisture isn’t imported into the store.  If you’re storing household items make sure your fridge and freezer are fully defrosted and your washing machine is empty of water.  We also recommend covering goods in storage with a cotton dust sheet over the winter months.

To give extra piece of mind we are able to offer an innovative product, the Absorpole, which protects against the natural moisture in the air that can appear as condensation.

An Absorpole is easily installed and each one will absorb two litres of moisture over a period of three months (test data available). The moisture collected is deposited into a plastic container that forms the lower part of the Absorpole.

Absorpoles are available from us at U Hold the Key at a cost of £25.00 each. 

We offer a service to our customers where we can check and if necessary replace your Absorpole for a small fee, this is useful if you are unable to regularly access your store.

Frozen Locks

If you encounter a frozen lock please call us on 0800 389 43 19, we will be happy to advise on the most effective ways to free up your lock.  

We must stress that this is an unusual occurrence and most of our customers will not be affected at all.
